Recipe Contest Information

CATEGORIES

RULES

 

1.         All Wisconsin residents are eligible to enter the contest.

2          Recipes must contain WISCONSIN APPLES; recipes specifying Granny Smith apples will be disqualified.  *Please see note below.

3.         Contest entrants may submit a maximum of two recipes per category.

4.         Contest entrants are eligible to receive an award in one category only.

5.         Recipes must be typed or printed on a standard 8½ x 11" sheet of paper with the recipe TITLE and CATEGORY in the upper left-hand corner and the contestant's name, address, home and work telephone numbers in the lower left-hand corner.

Entries will be eliminated if above rules are not followed.

6.         More than one recipe may be submitted in the same envelope, but each recipe must be on a separate sheet of paper and include all information specified in rule #5.

7.         To be eligible for prizes, the top ten entries selected in each category must be prepared and submitted in the recipe finals on the Square in downtown Galesville, Wisconsin, on Saturday, October 1, 2005 during the Galesville Apple Affair.

9.         The deadline for receiving recipes is September 15, 2005.

10.        All entries become the property of the Wisconsin Apple Growers Association.

11.        In the event that duplicate recipes are received, the recipe with the earliest postmark will be considered.

            *  We are restricting Granny Smith apples from our contest until they become of commercial importance in Wisconsin.  The majority of Granny Smith are now shipped in from other states or countries.

First Place                     $150 United States Savings Bond

Second Place                 $100 United States Savings Bond

Third Place                    $ 50 United States Savings Bond

**  All participating finalists will receive Wisconsin Apple Recipe Brochures and a 5 pounds of Wisconsin

     apples.

**  All other contestants will receive the winning apple recipes.
